Thaipusam Festival 2020
A truly unforgettable experience was when I received an invitation from Vanessa James Francis to join her family on a visit to Batu Caves in Kuala Lumpur during the week of Thaipusam. Despite a long day at work, I eagerly joined their family and witnessed the remarkable rituals that took place, including the piercing of cheeks and tongues, followed by the arduous task of carrying heavy metal vases up the numerous stairs leading to the caves.
